Time Price Opportunity (TPO) letter codes

I am located in Chicago and when I refer to a time it’s Central time. GMT -5.

People ask what the letters mean and I’ve listed the designations below. This is the day session and the most important part of the trade date. Overnight letters are mostly lower case. For our purposes here at Trend Day Trading, we concentrate on the day session but always look at the overnight of the previous session.

TPO time codes:

A - 8:30-9:00

B - 9:00-9:30

C - 9:30-10:00

D - 10:00-10:30

E - 10:30-11:00

F - 11:00-11:30

G - 11:30-12:00

H - 12:00-12:30

I - 12:30-1:00

J - 1:00-1:30

K - 1:30-2:00

L - 2:00-2:30

M - 2:30-3:00

N - 3:00-3:15

Settlement for ES and NQ is at 3:15

In this chart we have from right to left: the aftermarket on a Friday so 3:15-4:00. Next is the day session a, then an overnight session and the last two are day sessions. If you zoom in you can see the lower case letters in the overnight. I use Windotrader which is awesome. You can set up the profiles in a ton of different ways. Its the most comprehensive Market Profile software available.
